TORONTO - Gary Lewin, the England national football team physiotherapist, has reportedly handed in his resignation to join the Toronto Tyrants at the MLC. The switch happens amidst immense shock and confusion in the FA headquarters, with sources close to Lewin revealing that he was "getting tired of losing" and "needed a change" to be able to "work with a bunch of professional athletes determined to push themselves as far as they need to in order to be at their best".
"It isn't often that you see people giving up a footie career to go into cricket, innit?", inquired a visibly dejected David Beckham, long time colleague whose English national team debut came in the same match that Lewin was appointed physio of the football team.
Lewin was not available to comment, although sources claim he was spotted at the Lester B. Pearson airport in Toronto munching away at his poutine and downplaying the greatness of the shepherd's pie.
