I actually enjoy bad umpiring when the match is between England and Australia. People like Ricky Ponting are always against the introduction of technology, because they get the advantage of bad umpiring most of the time. Australia is right behind England in getting umpire's favor.

The introduction of technology might be a blessing for cricket, but I doubt if proper judgement will still be made. Such stuffs were introduced in a West Indian series and the umpires were far from correct. The problem is, it gave the third umpire enough power to make judgement of his own and therefore, it was not all technology, the mistakes that the on-field umpire could make, would now be made by the third umpire.

If there is a reliable technology available, then one should take the most use of it, releasing the umpires from their guessing work. For example, with hawk-eye, just see if the ball pitched not outside the leg and let it extrapolate the trajectory to see if it hits the stumps. If it hits, that's OUT without wasting time.

If it is a catch, use snicko and hot spot. May be, the technology is not intelligent enough to provide solutions to all situations; but why not accept what it offers? In that WI series, umpires did not let the Hawk-eye extrapolate the trajectory and did some guessing work, which was wrong many times.
