Bangladesh offer to replace Nepal | KUALA LUMPUR – The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has offered to host Group A of the AFC President’s Cup 2008 after Nepal withdrew citing political instability in the country.
Nepal Police Club was scheduled to host the matches but the honour could fall to Abahani Limited, the eight-time Bangladesh champions, who are also pooled in Group A with inaugural AFC President’s Cup champions Regar-Tadaz from Tajikistan and Pakistan’s WAPDA.
The BFF’s offer was announced at the 3rd AFC Executive Committee meeting by Ganesh Thapa, the Chairman of the AFC President’s Cup/AFC Challenge Cup Organising Committee and President of the ANFA (All Nepal Football Association).
Group A of the AFC President’s Cup 2008 will run from April 20 to 24.
