Recently there was a news in USA where a passenger called TSA i think informing that he was able to carry a gun into the airplane. Most of the time ppl carrying gun permit with gun checks them in but often times they genuinely forget is caught at the screening where oboviusly they are prevented from taking them in carryon.
this particular passenger while he forgot he placed in in his carry on - was able to take it without detection. When he realized it he himself notified the agency.
Nothing is impossible it's just close to 100% of ppl who are travelling aren't there to hijack a plane or cause problem. More reason why such invasive TSA probes/airport security are wrong and they can provide better travel experience.
