Default Tigers' spinners a danger, warns Siddons

Tigers' spinners a danger, warns Siddons

MiCHAEL CLARKE'S squad for the upcoming one-day series against Bangladesh is vulnerable, says the hosts' coach Jamie Siddons, but not because of any growing pains in the dynamic between the new captain and Ricky Ponting.

Bangladesh produced a huge upset at the World Cup with a two-wicket win over England but failed to make the quarter-finals.

Even so, Siddons believes Australia's predominantly right-handed batting line-up could be susceptible against Bangladesh's spinners, led by their captain Shakib Al Hasan.

''I guess Australia's weakness is playing left-arm off-spin or the ball spinning away from the bat,'' Siddons said.

''It gives us a chance. Their chinks in the armour are that - if they don't play it well, then we're a chance, but we have to make enough runs to be competitive.''

i hope we can do this, but i fear everytime we talk up our chances we perform hopelessly.
