we should beat the associates in any conditions, home or away. we should also expect to always lose one or even two matches, especially if the conditions don't suit us. that being said, a proper tournament will probably see us playing either 3-4 matches and then a SF and Final or 5-6 matches and then a direct Final. I don't see any teams out-playing us over the course of 5-6 games no matter what the playing conditions.
I can easily see Zimbabwe missing out at Ireland or even maybe Afghanistan's benefit.
This is basically a return to the ICC Trophy days and essentially makes the World Cup the Champions Trophy. It Should really have been 12 teams and not 10. They need to stick to a goddamn format instead of changing it at whim of the powers that be.
