Can't think of a non full member country ever being stronger than Afghanistan is right now, to me it would just look ridiculous if they don't get full status soon. Waiting years will potentially mean the boat will be missed, can't expect an associate to get this strong and stay this strong, this is the stage where icc needs to pump funds into the associate to ensure they can do what they need to to at least maintain this level with the obvious optimistic hope that they'll improve to the test level standard.

Look at other nations like Ireland, Scotland etc they've had strong periods and didn't get promoted and now they are getting weaker potentially never getting full status.

When an associate is this high icc needs to try and push them to the sky, the game needs to be expanded.

Cricket will suffer if we lose teams like Afghanistan.
