He himself admits to being a bowler first who can once in a while be handy with the bat. Afridi should not be relied on to win a match by bat. He can accelerate a good platform or demoralize the bowlers for a short stay at the crease but his main strength is the ball.
Shame as that is how Ashraful started out. But his debut test century and the two innings vs. AUS and SA made everyone force him to a top order batsman. I think we could have gotten a lot more out of him if he was handled differently.
