Default BCB Looking For Batting Coach

We ve appointed CR as a fielding coach sometime in February. The plan was to appoint a specialist batting coach around the same time. But that has stalled and CR has had to focus both on batting and fielding. According to a New Age article, apart from CR we dont have a single batting oriented coach-in Academy, Under 19, Under 23.

As always we only realize our shortcomings in the last minute when there is no other alternative. Now that CR is flying over to UK with A Team, there is no one back home to work with the other batsmen.

BCB cricket operations chairman Enayet Hossain Siraj mentioned they are looking for someone like Gordon Greenidge, who will not only work with national team players but also academy and emerging players. The initiative is good. This is also an opportunity for BCB to tap into former players. Why only rely on foreign coaches? Why not bring in Aminul Islam as a part of our academy. Even Salahuddin (Who is credited for the development of Shakib, Mushfiq) can play a key role. Lets hope this hunt doesnt continue for another six months. Our batting has improved significantly. Nows a good time to assign a mentor who can work on the nitty gritty and help them improve further. Also allows CR to work on what he was hired for-fielding.
