I know a Bangladeshi who played soccer for his high school team in Paris, and later for USF in the NCAA. ASP won the ISST Western Europe in 85 and 86 and USF was nationally ranked in the Top 10 at the time. In both places, running, not just lapping, the 5K before a 90 minute practice match was mere warm up. Then there were drills, set plays, weight training, and taking 100s of shots on goal before back to back weekend matches.
