A welfare system is certainly a good idea, but BD might not be wealthy enough as a country to institute it.

But alcohol but is just neocon hogwash. UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar all have very high HDIs - on par with european nations like Greece or Portugal. No legalisation of alcohol or lack of azans.

Increased rates of alcoholism in BD would likely lead to increased rates of sexual assault, hazing, esophageal cancer, stomach cancer, liver cirrhosis, liver cancer, cardiovascular disease, and vehicular accidents. BD doesnt need that.
