The deep depression over west central Bay and its adjoining northwest Bay moved westwards and crossed Orissa coast of India near Gopalpur.
The depression now lies over Orissa and its adjoining areas as a land depression, a Met Office bulletin said on Saturday.
It is likely to move in a westerly direction and weaken gradually by giving precipitation, the bulletin added.
Under its influence, steep pressure gradient persists over north Bay.
Monsoon is less active over Bangladesh and squally weather is unlikely over north Bay.
Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar and Mongla have been advised to
lower signal.
