Career Sketch by Miran Rahman
|
After being appointed as the captain, Pilot has taken his game
to the next level. His leadership has yet to prove phenomenal
but he has certainly led his team from the front. If he can only
inspire the majority of his team to follow suit, Bangladesh will
find a way to get out of the rut they are in.
Khaled keeps particularly well to the spinners, as befits a practitioner
from the Subcontinent and his batting has become an increasingly
important ingredient in the side; he is capable of both hitting
out and defending solidly. Scored a match saving, unbeaten century
against England 'A' in 1999 as well as two fifties against the
West Indies. Also batted grittily in
Bangladesh's first Test in 2000, featuring in a 93 run partnership
for the seventh wicket in the first innings and hanging on grimly
for an unbeaten 21 as the rest of the order folded in the second
innings.
